Acanthus Ring

The design is inspired by the pediment of the Temple of Hadrian in the Ancient City of Ephesus. The pediment has an arch in the centre decorated with a bust of Tyche surrounded by acanthus leaves.

‘The acanthus is a vegetal motif rich in symbolism and has long been associated with the notion of rebirth. It is a symbol of immortality and resurrection,  and as a decorative motif it has been used as early as 500 BCE in Grecian art.’
