The design is inspired by a segment from a block of carved ivy standing in front of the Temple of Hadrian.
Ivy symbolizes fidelity and eternal life. In ancient Egypt, ivy was dedicated to Osiris who represented immortality. In ancient Greece ivy was the plant of Dionysus because of its vigour.
